What is Brookvale Arts District (BAD)?

BAD is a community-driven organisation founded by artists, creatives, and tech professionals, activating and telling stories of people, places and projects within Brookvale’s precinct.

Where is BAD located?

BAD is all over Brookvale, whether you’re in the east side or the west side of Pittwater Road, you’re BAD. Currently we don’t have dedicated BAD studios, so we rely on our co-founder’s work places for our operations.

How can I participate in BAD?

Does BAD host events?

BAD doesn't host events directly. We create activations to increase community engagement. We promote local events organised by community members through our platform and we collaborate with local projects by connecting pros.

How can I promote my event through BAD?

Submit your event details through our Event Submission Form [link] on the website. Events submitted by the public will be added to our calendar in a matter of hours.

What is the BAD Directory?

BAD has used government grants to fund several initiatives, including:

  • Developing the right brand to showcase what BAD has to offer, to the world

  • Developing a response to the NBC's Brookvale Structure Plan (2017–2023), offering potential solutions to challenges and creating opportunities for collaboration with upcoming urban changes.

  • Developing our online platform and directory to connect local artists and businesses

  • Organising activations to promote local art and culture

  • Creating digital storytelling projects to highlight Brookvale's unique identity

  • Implementing public art projects, to enhance the urban landscape

Are there any specific projects BAD has completed with grant funding?
